Call for Nominations for the Aboriginal Heritage Council

The Government is seeking nominations to appoint up to three further members to the Aboriginal Heritage Council.

The Aboriginal Heritage Council was established under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1975 and may have up to ten members.  Seven members were appointed to the Aboriginal Heritage Council in 2017.

Nominations for membership are invited from Aboriginal people with the relevant knowledge, skills and experience in Aboriginal heritage.

Consideration for appointment will be given to appropriate representation of Tasmanian Aboriginal organisations with an interest in heritage as well as a balance of regional and gender representation.

Expressions of Interest outlining suitability for membership are to be submitted to by 5pm on Monday, 24 September 2018.

For questions or enquiries about the Aboriginal Heritage Council or the nomination process, please contact Mr Steve Gall, Director Aboriginal Heritage Tasmania, by phone on 03 6165 3154 or via email at
