The Tasmanian Government routinely discloses information to the public under the Right to Information Act 2009. To further enhance our transparency and to enable greater consistency across government when this information will be released, the Tasmanian Government has agreed to routinely disclose information twice a year in April and October.
Disclosure information for Aboriginal Heritage Tasmania includes Dial Before You Dig Referrals, completed Aboriginal Heritage Assessments and Permit Applications.
For the period 1 July 2021 to 30 September 2021:
Dial Before You Dig Referrals
The Department received 12,483 Dial Before You Dig Referrals, 1094 of which prompted further advice from the Department.
Aboriginal Heritage Assessments
Twenty two Aboriginal Heritage Assessments were completed. Aboriginal heritage assessments inform proponents of Aboriginal heritage considerations for their project.
Permit Applications
Five Aboriginal Heritage Permit Applications were assessed and processed by the Department.
